National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. said the government is now more than ready for the conduct of the first round of National Vaccination Days to be held from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
The initiative aims to inoculate at least nine million Filipinos across 16 regions outside Metro Manila, which is equivalent to a national daily throughput of three million jabs.
“We are confident that our Bayanihan, Bakunahan [campaign] will be successful in capacitating our LGUs so that they can bring up their vaccination output before the holiday season,” Galvez said.
“As what we always say, getting the COVID-19 jab is the best gift for ourselves and our loved ones this Christmas. Let us all be heroes and get vaccinated against the virus,” he added.
A second leg of the National Vaccination Days is set to be conducted from Dec. 15 to 17, which aims to increase the number of fully vaccinated individuals in time for the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. (NTF) – jlo
