The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday (Dec. 16) said that 62% of the eligible minors for inoculation have been vaccinated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while 24% are fully vaccinated.
“Iyong ating rest of the pediatric population, mayroong mga 62% na tayong nabakunahan ng first dose tapos mga 24% ang fully vaccinated,” DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said during the Laging Handa public briefing.
“Mga 2.7 million na iyong mga kabataan na nagkaroon ng dalawang doses ng Pfizer or Moderna,” she added.
Cabotaje also stressed the importance of getting vaccinated for adults and senior citizens who live with minors who are ineligible to be vaccinated.
She said that getting vaccinated is the best way to protect one’s children.
“Importante sa household ay mabakunahan ang lolo, ang lola, at mga magulang para maproteksiyunan iyong bata na hindi pa kasama sa bakunahan,” Cabotaje said. -rir
