CebuPac: No commercial flights to and from Siargao until Feb 2022

There will be no commercial flights to and from Siargao and Surigao provinces until February 2022, Cebu Pacific said on Tuesday (Dec. 21).

This is due to the effect of Typhoon Odette in the said provinces.

According to the budget carrier Cebu Pacific, more than 25,000 passengers were affected because of these flight cancellations.

“Simula noong nagkaroon kami ng mga flight cancellations dahil dito kay Super Typhoon Odette, more than 25,000 passengers na ang naapektuhan ng mga cancellations,” Cebu Pacific Spokesperson Carmina Romero said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

The only flights allowed are humanitarian and government flights that will rescue stranded individuals as well as perform relief operations.

The options available for passengers whose flights were cancelled, among others, are re-booking and refunding.

“Kapag cancelled ang flight, ang binibigay naming options sa kanila ay puwede silang mag re-book at no additional cost. Puwede din pong dalhin muna sa travel fund para madali po silang makabiyahe sa ibang lugar at panahon. Puwede rin pong mag-refund,” Romero said. – Report from Karen Villanda/PG-rir
