Surigao del Norte, Odette’s victims ask for help amid supply probs

The local government of Surigao del Norte and the victims of Typhoon Odette there are seeking assistance as they continue to experience scarcity of water, food, and gas supplies.

The typhoon left only two operational gasoline stations, causing long queues to form in gas and water stations, and in several market places.

The problem of basic commodity supply is also experienced in Dinagat Island, Siargao Island, and other areas in the Caraga region.

Unexpected heavy traffic incidents were also reported in Butuan City due to the influx of residents from other municipalities to acquire basic goods.

Power and communication lines have yet to be fully restored.

Meanwhile, stranded domestic and international tourists asked for assistance to bring them back to their families.

“We really need help right now. Zander Plaza said.

Several international humanitarian organizations have already arrived in Caraga for their relief operations. – Report from Venus Garcia (PIA Caraga)/AG-rir
