6-K new cases, 16-K recoveries bring active cases to 116-K

The Department of Health on Monday (Feb. 7) reported 6,835 new COVID-19 cases and 16,330 recoveries, bringing the total active case count to 116,720.

To date, there have been 3,616,387 total confirmed cases since the pandemic started, including 3,445,129 that have recovered and 54,538 deaths.

The case bulletin showed that 95.7% of the cases are mild and asymptomatic, while 7,806 of the active cases are asymptomatic, 103,900 are mild, 3,184 are moderate, 1,495 are severe, and 335 are critical.

The country’s utilization for intensive care units (ICU) is at 41%, while isolation beds occupancy is at 37%, ward beds at 36%, and ventilators are at 21%.

In Metro Manila, the ICU and ward beds are both 33% utilized, while isolation beds and ventilators have occupancy rates of 30% and 19%, respectively.

Out of the 36,773 tested based on February 5 data, 19.1% are positive for COVID-19. All laboratories were operational then, while two others were not able to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). -ag
