Lucena City COVID-19 risk classified ‘very low’

MANILA – The OCTA Research Group on Sunday, Feb. 20, reported that Lucena City is now classified as “very low risk” for COVID-19 infections.

The current growth rate of Quezon province’s capital city is minus 68% while its average daily attack rate (ADAR) or the number of infected individuals per 100,000 population is just 0.79, as of Saturday’s data.

Olongapo City in Zambales at 0.82% is the only other area with an ADAR below 1 percent while Baguio City has the highest at 12.26%.

Lucena’s reproduction number is at 0.13 while the positivity rate is 3%. It has 32 active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday.

Reproduction number pertains to the number of individuals a COVID-19 case could infect while positivity rate refers to the percentage of people who test positive for COVID-19 in a certain area.

The health care utilization rate (HCUR) of the city stands at 15%.

In a tweet by OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David, Iloilo City has the highest HCUR at 58%, classified as “moderate risk”.

Angeles City in Pampanga has the lowest HCUR at 4%, the only one in single digit.

The NCR is likewise classified as “low risk’ with a minus 38% growth rate, ADAR of 3.19, and HCUR of 25%. (PNA) – bny
