MANILA – Only two out of 17 regions need to work double-time to hit at least 60% of their target population in the COVID-19 vaccination program.

Soccsksargen and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao have full vaccination coverage of 56.06% and 25.95%, respectively, according to data shared Friday (March 18) by the National Task Force Against COVID-19.

Nine regions have already fully vaccinated at least 70% of their target, one year since the inoculation drive began in March last year — Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Western Visayas.

The regions of Mimaropa, Bicol, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao and Caraga, have completed the COVID-19 primary series of 60% of their target population.

The Philippines has already administered more than 139.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine nationwide, with 64,838,213 Filipinos completing their primary doses, including those who received the single-shot Janssen and Sputnik Light jabs.

Of the fully vaccinated, 11.3 million have booster or additional doses. (PNA)
