No more active COVID-19 cases in Pasay

MANILA – The Pasay City government on Monday (March 28) declared a major victory in its fight against COVID-19 with zero active cases.

“No new COVID-19 case has been detected in Pasay City over the past four days, a major feat considering that it was once a hotspot for rising virus cases,” Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said in a Viber message.

The Pasay City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) said all COVID-19 patients admitted in all of its isolation facilities and in Pasay City General Hospital have already recovered from the disease.

Rubiano attributed the significant drop in the number of cases to the government’s massive vaccination efforts.

Pasay has administered a total of 753,112 COVID-19 vaccines with 334,034 residents fully vaccinated and 81,188 individuals availed of the booster shots or additional doses as of March 26.

“We have to remember that there are a number of non-Pasay residents who are working in the city. We have to vaccinate them so that they can work here,” Rubiano said.

She also reminded the public that Pasay will continue to strictly enforce the public minimum health protocols such as regular hand washing, wearing of face masks, and observing physical distance. (PNA)-ngs
