Ferlino to lead anti-vote buying task force

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) assigned Comelec Commissioner Aimee Ferolino on Wednesday (March 30) to head the Inter-Agency Task Force “Kontra Bigay,” in supervising vote-buying complaints.

Ferolino is tasked to establish Comelec guidelines to investigate and act on vote-buying reports in the upcoming national and local elections.

The poll body said the commission may act motu proprio in investigating complaints against some individuals receiving money in exchange for their votes.

Ferolino was once questioned by the former Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon due to the delay of decision on former senator and presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos’ disqualification.  PTV News/VC -ag
