NCR wage board junks TUCP’s wage increase petition

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) dismissed the petition of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) for the P470 wage increase for Filipino workers on Monday (April 4).

According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the National Capital Region Wages and Productivity Board justified that they do not have the jurisdiction for the petition of the TUCP and labeled it as “across the board” since the request of the labor group is a nationwide wage increase.

TUCP petitioned for a wage increase due to the insufficient minimum wage earned by workers following the increase in the prices of essential goods.

Meanwhile, the TUCP will still file another petition for the wage increase for Filipino workers. – PTV News/ AL-ngs
