Over 400 trainees to join PH Coast Guard

Over 400 trainees are being trained to become part of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

PCG Commandant CG Admiral Artemio Abu led the convening ceremony at the National Headquarters in Port Area, Manila on Monday, May 2. 

During his speech, Abu encouraged trainees to strengthen their body and mind, as well as to improve their leadership skills and faith in God. 

The Coast Guard Officer’s Course (CGOC) Class 28-2022 “Bravo” has a total of 313 trainees consisting of civilians and PCG enlisted personnel, while the CGOC Class 28-2022 “Charlie” has 109 trainees comprising of priests, Imams, medical technologists, psychiatrists, pharmacists, veterinarians, medical laboratory specialists, therapists, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists.

Meanwhile, 11 Philippine Military Academy graduates will be part of CGOC Class 29-2022 “Alpha.”

PCG said all trainees will undergo a medical evaluation and health assessment to ensure they are all set for the training. – ML/gb
