Duterte vows to remain a ‘worker for the people’

President Rodrigo Duterte vowed to remain “a worker for the people” even after his term ends. He stated this during the PDP-LABAN campaign rally in Cainta, Rizal on Tuesday, May 3.

As the current administration comes to an end, Duterte promised to still be of service to Filipinos in need of his assistance as a law practitioner.

“Ako, civilian na in a few days. I am a resident of the city, I do not have a house here. But kung mapunta kayo ng Davao o may problema kayo na gusto ninyong ipaabot na ayaw – hindi mo – hindi ka makakuha ng direction sa compass mo, just write me a letter or tawagan mo si [Senator] Bong [Christopher “Bong” Go],” Duterte said.

“I will remain a worker for the people. Paalamin mo lang ako. Kung wala ka ng kaso o ano, abugado man ako, ‘di subukan natin,” he added.

Other things he mentioned in his speech include some of the notable projects that started under his administration.

“I am glad to report that the two phases of our Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project are doing well, with the actual accomplishment going beyond our target. Once finished, this will secure much-needed water supply not only for the citizens of the province of Rizal and particularly Cainta but also to the nearby area units such as Metro Manila,” he said.

“The Metro Rail Line – 4 or MRT is also in its detailed architectural and engineering phases,” he added.

Duterte also warned that the country may get dragged into the Russia-Ukraine conflict if China participates. Report from Mela Lesmoras/VC – bny
