DOLE to conduct Independence Day, nationwide job fair

By Myris Lee

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is set to conduct another job fair in conjunction with Independence Day, following the successful labor Day face-to-face and online job fair.

In the May 6 Laging Handa briefing, DOLE Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay said the job fair is part of the Employment Facilitation Program for 2022, which may also include another job fair after Independence Day.

“Tuluy-tuloy naman po iyong tinatawag natin na Employment Facilitation Program, this is year-round. Kaya lang po kapag mga big events na po kagaya ng May 1, ang susunod po natin ay iyong Independence Day naman po which is on June 12,” Tutay said.

Tutay said the job vacancies offered on June 12 come from the 153,000 employment positions last May 1 from both domestic and overseas jobs.

Aside from the job fairs, job-seekers can also go to the nearest Public Employment Service (PESO) or the Bureau of Local Employment.

The local jobs offered in the fair include those from the manufacturing sector, retail trade, construction, information technology, and business process outsourcing. Overseas jobs, meanwhile, are health and construction-related vacancies. – ag
