After prexy polls, Lacson to serve family ‘for a change’

By Alec Go

A day after the electorate cast their votes for the next batch of the country’s leaders, presidential candidate and Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said he is now set to go home and be with his family.

The independent candidate is currently ranking fifth in the latest partial and unofficial tally of the presidential elections.

“I’m going home. After being away too long looking after the needs of other people, it is time to serve my family for a change. Enjoying peace and quiet in these challenging times will probably be my life’s greatest reward,” Lacson shared in his social media accounts.

Lacson has long served the public as a senator and as a former Philippine National Police chief, and is known to have returned his pork barrel funds in the past. He also ran in the 2004 presidential elections.

In his previous media interviews before the elections, he detailed his platforms which include budget reform, internal cleansing in a bid to curb corruption within the government to improve the level of public service. – gb
