The Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) that will connect Quezon City and Bulacan province is nearly 65% complete, the Department of Transportation (DOT) said on Wednesday, May 4.

In the Laging Handa briefing, DOT Undersecretary Timothy Batan said that their target partial operations for the MRT-7 is in December 2022 while the full operation is expected to start by 2023.

According to Batan, the MRT-7 project will bring great convenience to commuters since it will reduce the travel time from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, to North Avenue from 2 hours to almost 30 minutes.

Batan said that while the figure that they expect is 300,000 passengers per day, MRT-7 can service 800,000 passengers daily.

Meanwhile, Batan also reported that the common station that will link LRT-1, MRT-3, MRT-7, and the Metro Manila Subway is now 75% complete. – bny
