DOST opens first oneSTore Hub in Calabarzon

By Gabriela Baron

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) opened the first oneSTore Hub in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon (Calabarzon) and the 37th nationwide.

Introduced in 2016, oneSTore is a digital marketing that incorporates e-commerce in the operations of micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs), a strategy which helps business enterprises to widen the scope of their market and increase their business opportunities.

“The DOST oneSTore aims to provide MSMEs a platform to better consolidate and market their products to various customers online,” DOST Sec. Fortunato de la Peña said in a taped report.

“It aims to promote Filipino products, provide customers with an effortless shopping experience, and give retailers simple and direct access to the largest customer base in the Philippines,” de la Peña added.

DOST said oneSTore Hub is projected to help uplift the economic and business standing of MSMEs and livelihood groups in Calabarzon through enabling businesses to enter a larger pool of customers while offering a convenient shopping experience. – ngs
