DOH warns vs online scammers

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

The Department of Health (DOH) warned the public against online scammers using the names of DOH officials for monetary requests.

In an advisory released Sunday, June 5, DOH urged the public to report online scammers posing as DOH officials and soliciting “favors in acquiring gift cards.”

“The department reminds the public that it will not solicit such favors from other DOH units, government agencies nor the public,” DOH said.

“In light with this, any individual who experiences such modus should not share personal information to these scammers and instead block and immediately report them to the authorities,” it added.
