Minions: The Rise of Gru to hit local cinemas on June 29

By NG Seruela

The world’s greatest supervillain alongside his iconic Minions will return to the big screen on June 29 to tell the origin story of how their crew came to be with Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Illumination and Universal Pictures International’s Minions: The Rise of Gru tells the tale of Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, as a 12-year-old boy in the 1970s suburbia “plotting to take over the world from his basement which is not going particularly well,” and how he crossed paths and join forces with the Minions.

The movie also features a star-studded cast with Taraji P. Henson, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, Russell Brand, Michelle Yeoh, and Oscar winner Julie Andrews.

Catch the despicable crew on June 29 in theaters nationwide. – gb
