PDEA earns highest audit rating from COA

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) acquired an “unmodified opinion” or the highest audit rating from the Commission on Audit (COA) for its fair and organized financial records and reports.

PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva said that COA lauded the agency’s financial statements and records presentation, including the disclosures and transactions for the year ending in December 31, 2021.

“It is the highest audit opinion that the COA can render to a government agency. It means that all our financial records are in order and in accordance with their auditing rules and procedures,” Villanueva said.

The “unmodified opinion” was rendered to the agency for its fair presentation, which is in accordance with the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSASs).

“Having been IPSASs-compliant – a set of accounting standards issued by the IPSAS Board for use by the public sector entities around the world in the preparation of their financial statements, PDEA is truly a topnotch organization when it comes to the preparation of financial statements,” he said.

He said the recognition of the agency is a “true reflection” of its commitment in serving the people with “professionalism, dynamism, excellence, and accountability.”  – ag
