PNP to set live streaming screens across PH for Marcos’ inauguration

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is planning to set up live streaming screens at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan and at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City for the inauguration of president-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on June 30.

PNP Director for Operations Police Maj. Gen. Valeriano de Leon said they are also coordinating with the owners of the large LED TV screens in EDSA and other areas to stream live the inauguration of Marcos Jr.

De Leon said the strategy aims to reduce the influx of people going to the National Museum to witness the oath taking of Marcos. He added that the venue can only accommodate around 1,200 individuals.

“If viewing areas were set up in these areas, then they could greatly reduce the number of people at the National Museum in Manila, which can only accommodate a limited number of people,” De Leon said.

“If the Philippine Arena were used as a remote viewing area, it could accommodate around 70,000 inside and another 100,000 outside, particularly in the front area of the arena,” he added.

Aside from the Philippine Arena and MOA, the PNP are also eyeing the North Luzon Express Terminal in Bulacan and PhilSports Arena in Pasig City, which can accommodate over 40,000 people. – gb
