Tugade urges Filipinos to support next transport chief

Outgoing Department of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade urged Filipinos on Sunday, June 26, “to give their full trust and support” to his successor, Jimmy Bautista.

“President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has decided. We must fully trust and support his decision for his success shall be the success of the Filipino people,” Tugade said.

“I personally know my successor, Jimmy Bautista. We have long years of association and friendship. His professionalism, experience, dedication, and hard work will certainly augur well in his being the Secretary of Transportation.”

Tugade vowed to give assistance during the transition of authority and assured they will exert all efforts for a “smooth, full, and transparent transition.” – gb
