Legarda files her top 10 priority bills

Senator Loren Legarda filed on Monday, July 4, her first 10 priority bills ahead of the opening of the 19th Congress on July 25.

Legarda’s proposed legislative measures focus on the education sector from both private and public schools, health workers, livelihood for Filipinos and protection for migrant workers.

Her first 10 priority bills are:

  1. One Tablet, One Student Bill
  2. Magna Carta for Public School teachers
  3. Magna Carta for Private School Teachers
  4. An Act Upgrading the Minimum Salaries of Public School Teachers and Personnel
  5. Magna Carta of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs)
  6. Technical Education, Training, and Certification Act of 2022
  7. Barangay Employment and Entrepreneurship Offices (BEESO) Bill
  8. Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System (PENCAS) Law of 2022
  9. Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) Remittance Protection Act of 2022
  10. Pangkabuhayan Bill

 

Legarda said she is hopeful that her proposed bills will “bring development to the lives of our countrymen and help alleviate poverty in our country.”

“I am very excited to serve the Filipino people and this is just the beginning of many measures that I will work on to improve the welfare and rights of our kababayans,” Legarda said.

“Tuloy-tuloy lang po ang ating serbisyo at pagtatrabaho para sa ikauunlad ng ating mahal na Pilipinas!” – gb
