4.7-magnitude quake hits Abra

A 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit Tayum, Abra Wednesday morning, July 27, following the 7.3-magnitude tremor that rattled the province earlier, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The tectonic quake struck four kilometers (km) southwest of Tayum.

It had a depth of focus of one km.

Intensity V was felt in Bucay, Abra. Meanwhile, Instrumental Intensity II was felt in Taytay, Rizal, while Instrumental Intensity I was felt in Laoag City and Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte and in Peñablanca and Gonzaga, Cagayan.

No damages and aftershocks are expected.
