Classes, work suspended in Baguio City after 7.0-magnitude quake

Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong suspended classes and work in the public and private sectors on Wednesday, July 27, following the strong tremor felt in the city.

A 7.0-magnitude quake rocked Lagangilang, Abra early Wednesday morning,
triggering landslides and damaged structures in parts of Northern Luzon.

Intensity VI was reported in Baguio City.

Magalong advised building owners not to allow people back inside establishments until structures are assessed. He will lead a city-wide inspection.

The mayor urged residents to ensure safety of their home first and assured that the city government is on top of the situation.
