The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) welcomed on Thursday, Aug. 4, Engr. Carlo Dimayuga III as its new acting chairperson, following President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s signing of his appointment on Aug. 1.

The new MMDA chief took his oath of office on Aug. 3 before Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez.

MMDA Flood Control and Sewerage Management Office Director Baltazar Melgar, who also served as officer-in-charge since July, said he is confident in Dimayuga’s expertise and leadership in public service.

“The MMDA welcomes Engr. Dimayuga as its new Acting Chairman. The agency believes that with his instinctive understanding of operations and managerial perspective, he can steer MMDA towards delivering better basic services to the public,” he said.

Dimayuga finished his Civil Engineering course at the University of Santo Tomas and passed the licensure examination in 1997. –ag
