The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released P1.5 million worth of financial aid to assist over 150,000 victims of Typhoon Odette.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman granted the request of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to aid 153,410 affected households in Regions VI, VII, X, and XIII.

Pangandaman said the national government did not forget those who have been severely affected by the typhoon last December.

DSWD requested to release the fund on Aug. 2, which was received by the DBM on Aug. 3, while the corresponding Special Allotment Release Order was released Aug. 8. – gb
