4.2-magnitude quake hits Abra town

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit Pilar, Abra Sunday noon, Aug. 28, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The tectonic tremor hit two kilometers (km) southwest of Pilar at 12:06 p.m.

It had a depth of focus of 14 km.

Instrumental Intensity I was felt in Bangued, Abra and Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

Damages and aftershocks are not expected.
