Department of Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 5, the National Teachers’ Day in Bangued, Abra with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

The First Lady and Duterte were at the Abra Sports Complex to witness the performances for the teachers in the province, where Duterte also expressed gratitude to the local government officials for the assistance they have provided for the success of the event.

The education secretary said in her speech that teachers are close to her heart, as she considered them allies in developing the minds of the youth and in nation building.

–ag
