8,029 pass civil engineer board exam

A total of 8,029 out of 20,407 takers passed the civil engineer licensure examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Carl Jervin Rivera Magtira of the University from the Philippines-Los Banos (UPLB) topped the licensure exam with a rating of 95%.

Magtira was followed by Andrew Aren Binondo Ong from the University of the Philippines-Diliman (UPD), Joseph Lawrence Galletes Celester from UPD, Charles Jade Moral Besabella from Father Saturnino Urios University, and Vencint Decelo Cagampang from Polytechnic University of the Philippines at second, third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.

Others who also made it to the top 10 were: Levi Azriel Garcia Deganos from UPD and Philip Lorenz Tantano Nacua from University of Cebu (6th), Sophia Mariya Kysha Gomez Camacho from UPD and Julian Rikki Cortez Reyes from Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (7th), Darius Joseph Ramos Diamante from De La Salle University (8th), and Franz Martin Perez Leachon from Mapua University (9th).

Meanwhile, John Kirt Reyes Baguio from Far Eastern University Institute of Technology, Car Justin Barredo Berces from Bicol University-Legazpi, Jefferson Yu Cafino from Carlos A. Hilado Memorial State College-Talisay, and Juan Miguel Rojas Estanislao from UPD all shared the 10th spot.

UP Diliman emerged as the top performing school with 94.5% passing rate.

The results were released six working days after the last day of the exam. -ag
