PBBM: Poll showing majority of Filipinos believe PH headed in right direction ‘very encouraging’

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, said the latest survey result showing  85% of Filipinos believe that the country is headed in the right direction under his administration was “very encouraging.”

Based on OCTA Research Group’s Tugon ng Masa survey, 85% of Filipino adults said the country is headed in the right direction, while only 6% expressed otherwise.

“Well, of course, it’s very encouraging that people think that we are moving in the right direction,” Marcos said.

Marcos stressed that it is significant for the Filipinos to feel “they are being served by the government” despite their socio-economic status.

“It crosses demographics, the number is more or less the same across the demographics,” he continued.

“So that is important to me because every class of society must feel that they are being served by the government,” he added.

“And with that kind of statistic, then it looks like we have at least— we have made the government felt at every level of society. That’s what’s important to me,” Marcos said.

The poll was conducted from Oct. 23 to 27 and surveyed 1,200 adults nationwide.

Meanwhile, 91% of respondents from Visayas think the country is headed in the right direction, 87% in Balance Luzon, 84% in Mindanao, and 70% in Metro Manila.

Among the socio-economic class, 86% of Filipinos belonging to “Class D” or “masa” agreed the country is moving in the right direction.

It was followed by “Class “’ or “the poorest” at 81% and “Class ABC” or “upper-to-middle” at 79%.
