The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ordered the shutdown of a travel consultancy firm in San Fernando, Pampanga and its offices in Santiago City, Isabela, and Tabuk in Kalinga, for posting fake jobs in Poland.

DMW Secretary Susan Ople ordered the closure of IDPLumen Travel Consultancy Services that charges applicants as much as P122,000.

Ople warned the public on transacting with illegal recruiters advertising jobs in other countries.

“Please do not transact with travel consultancy firms offering jobs abroad. Illegal recruitment ‘yan. May naghihintay na one-way ticket sa kulungan ang mga nagpapatakbo ng ganyan,” Ople said.

IDPLumen advertises jobs that offer jobs in Poland for truck drivers, welders, and factory workers with  monthly salaries ranging from P35,000 to P124,000.

The said consultancy firm is offering applicants under two options: Regular upfront payments or “fly now, pay later” scheme.

According to DMW, IDPLumen Travel Consultancy Services has no license from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration to operate and offer overseas job orders.

Meanwhile, Ople urged the victims of the agency to coordinate with DMW so they will be assisted properly by the department in pursuing charges against IDPLumen.

“Victims of illegal recruitment schemes may report their cases directly through the AIRB’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/airbranch/?mibextid=ZbWKwL through their email address: airbranch@dmw.gov.ph, or their hotline at +63 2 8721 0619,” DMW said. – gb
