The Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Salem condemned on Monday, Jan. 30, the brutal killing of overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Jullebee Ranara.

Salem also expressed his condolences to Ranara’s family.

“Sheikh Salem asked Mr. Cabrera to convey his deepest condolences to the family and the Philippine government on the brutal and tragic death of Ms. Ranara,” the Philippine Embassy of Kuwait said in a statement.

Salem said that Ranara’s perpetrator is already in jail. He already assured that the suspect will be “punished for his heinous crime.”

Salem stressed that Ranara’s killer “does not” reflect the character and values of Kuwaiti society, its people and the government.

Philippine Embassy in Kuwait Chargé d’Affaires Jose Cabrera III expressed appreciation to Kuwaiti authorities for their quick response to the suspect’s apprehension and the clearances for Ms. Ranara’s remains.
