PUV operators, drivers to get more benefits from modernization, says LTFRB

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday, Feb. 3, shared some of the benefits the government’s public utility vehicle modernization program (PUVMP) will give to drivers and operators.

Under the PUVMP, drivers and operators can decide whether to join a cooperative or form their own group, according to the LTFRB Regional Franchising and Regulatory Office for the National Capital Region (RFRO-NCR).

Zona Russet Tamayo said.

The modernization program began in 2017 which sought to make the public transportation system more efficient.

On Thursday, the LTFRB said the modernization will push through, with a deadline on the extension for operators to participate in cooperatives and join the program set on April 26.
