Up to 57-hour-long water interruption set due to major leak repair

The Maynilad Water Services, Inc. advised customers to prepare for water interruption starting 3:00 p.m. on March 5 for a major repair following a leak along Osmeña Highway corner Zobel Roxas in Manila.

Around 580,000 customers will be affected until 11:59 p.m. on March 7.

“Ito pong 2.2-meter line is a major trunk line namin that conveys water from La Mesa water treatment plant papunta po sa south areas,” Water Supply Operations Head Engr. Ronald Padua said.

Maynilad said in its account that 20 to 30 million liters per day can be recovered with the damaged line’s repair.

Seven stationary water tanks and 30 mobile water tankers will be deployed in affected areas.

Aside from consumers, the repair activity will also affect motorists plying the northbound of Osmeña Highway. – Report from Cleizl Pardilla/AG – gb
