DOH vows provision of holistic healthcare services for women

The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday, March 8 vowed to continue working with all government agencies, private sector, and stakeholders to provide holistic healthcare services and strengthen existing programs for women.

Health Acting Secretary Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire said the department will continue to advocate for the “convergence of various healthcare services” and harmonize programs for mothers, kids, and all women in society.

“The goal of employing a holistic approach is to promote collaborative governance in order to deliver the full range of quality healthcare services to all women in support of reaching their full potential,” Vergeire said.

The DOH also committed to ensure that all women will have access to maternity, vaccination, nutrition, and reproductive healthcare services.

In addition, it said it will continue delivering and enhancing services for women’s mental health and ensure that all environments promote women’s safety and empowerment.

“As a realization of Universal Health Care, the DOH is one with every Juana each step of the way. We will continue to advocate for primary care and specialty care, and ensure that our maternal and reproductive healthcare services are responsive to the needs of women in the community,” Vergeire added. – cf
