345 Tarlac farmers awarded 450 hectares of land

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has presented certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to 345 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Tarlac province.

Agrarian Reform Secretary Rosalina L. Bistoyong led the awarding of CLOAs to the beneficiaries, together with DAR Regional Director Judita M. Tungol, in a simple ceremony held at The Bella Plaza here Tuesday.

The CLOAs cover 450 hectares of agricultural land located in various parts of the province, including Tarlac City.

Bistoyong assured the government’s continuous support to the ARBs through greater farm production and higher income opportunities.

She said apart from the CLOAs, farmers could expect more support from the government.

Under the various programs and services of the DAR, she said farmers could avail of credit assistance, farm machinery, free agrarian legal advice, and agrarian justice for farmers who have land problems.

Bistoyong also urged the ARBs to make the best use of their newly titled lands by establishing an agrarian reform-based organization through which they could be assisted by the DAR.

“Support services are not given individually. It is important that you join or group yourselves into cooperatives so that you can readily avail of support services from the government,” she said.

Meanwhile, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer 1 Precy Landingin explained to the farmers their rights and obligations as land reform beneficiaries.

For her part, Tarlac City Mayor Cristy Angeles congratulated the farmers and thanked the DAR for helping uplift the lives of the beneficiaries. (PNA)
