2nd PH economic briefing set in Washington, DC

The country’s economic leaders are set to meet with business leaders and investors at the second Philippine Economic Briefing (PEB) in Washington, DC tonight, April 12.

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Felipe Medalla will be presenting the country’s economic situation and investment opportunities.

According to the Department of Budget and Management, Diokno will deliver the keynote speech and will present the country’s economic performance and key economic liberalization reforms.

Medalla will discuss the performance and outlook of the monetary, external, and financial sectors in the country, while Pangandaman will tackle the priority expenditures supporting the Philippine Development Plan.

Infrastructure investment and development in the Philippine Socioeconomic Agenda will be likewise discussed by Balisacan.

The DBM said there will be representatives from the country’s development partners who will give their outlook on the Philippine economic performance.

Earlier this year, the first PEB was held in Europe in a bid to attract more investors into the country.

Meanwhile, the economic team will also meet with Fitch Ratings and financial institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. It will also participate at the Annual Spring Meetings.

The PEB will be available for live online viewing at 9:00 p.m. via https://www.facebook.com/DBMgovph. AG – gb
