With the Department of Health’s (DOH) recent announcement on the rollout of second booster shots against COVID-19 for the general adult population, some Filipinos express disapproval of the news.

We asked netizens if they are willing to be administered with a second booster.

Mostly said they would rather not due to the possible side effect of the vaccine.

“Hindi na. First booster pa lang, [may] side effect na sa’kin. No to 2nd booster,” one netizen wrote.

“Wala na ‘yan. [Sino] magpaturok [diyan]? kabigat sa katawan,” a netized added.

Some of the known side effects of COVID-19 vaccines are arm sores, body aches, and other flu-like symptoms.

On the other hand, some Filipinos acknowledged the importance of getting a booster shot.

“Yes. Kung may malasakit ka sa kapwa mo at sa pamilya mo,” one netizen commented.

Meanwhile, some netizens vouched for the effectiveness of the second booster.

“Yeah, [it’s] almost a year since my 1st booster. So [it’s] fine,”

The DOH announced last Wednesday, April 12 that the second boost will be available soon to the adult general population. – cf
