A four-month old Belgian Malinois from General Santos City saved a child from burning in a fire.

According to non-profit rescue organization A Heart for Paws Gensan, “Princess,” who had already escaped her dog cage, signaled and warned her owners that there was still a child left asleep in the burning house.

“Princess” then tailed her owner inside the then-burning house, causing her to sustain injuries.

The dog is currently under monitoring and treatment for her swollen eyes and mouth.

“Part of Princess’ therapy, ay laser treatment po. Sa ngayon, naka-confine at naka-dextrose ang aso,” the center said.

Fire hit Purok Oblipas, Jurassic in Barangay Calumpang in General Santos City on April 21.

Based on authorities’ report, at least eight establishments, several houses, and a boarding house were engulfed in the fire Friday morning. Damages are pegged at P900,000. – cf
