2 weather systems to bring rains across PH

MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that two weather systems will bring rains to a large part of Luzon on Tuesday, May 16. 

In its 5:00 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Batanes and Babuyan Islands will still have cloudy skies and moderate with at times heavy rains due to the frontal system affecting extreme Northern Luzon.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible.

Meanwhile, the Ilocos region, Cagayan, Apayao, Zambales, and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the southwesterly surface wind flow affecting the western section of northern and Central Luzon.

This weather system, as well as localized thunderstorms, will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides can occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are still forecast to prevail in the entire archipelago. (PNA)
