Rain showers to prevail across PH Friday

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

Localized thunderstorms and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will cause rain showers across the country, the weather bureau said Friday, May 19.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and BARMM due to the ITCZ.

Flash floods or landslides are possible due to moderate to at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also likely during severe thunderstorms, said PAGASA.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail across the country.
