35 aftershocks recorded from Calatagan quake

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded 35 aftershocks as of Friday afternoon, June 15, from the magnitude 6.3 earthquake that hit Calatagan town.

In its aftershock count shared to the media, Phivolcs said the aftershocks ranged from magnitude 1.4 to 3.1.

Seventeen of the quakes are plotted and no earthquakes were felt.

The 108-deep magnitude 6.3 quake hit Calatagan, Batangas at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday.

No fatalities were reported, but several schools in Calatagan sustained minor damages.

Cracks were also seen in Ayala and Boni stations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) in Metro Manila, but were not considered dangerous to the public.
