UP leads PH universities in world rankings

The University of the Philippines (UP) led Philippine schools in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world rankings 2024.

UP placed at 404th with an overall score of 27.6.

The country’s premiere state university was followed by the Ateneo de Manila University at 563 spot and the De La Salle University at the 681-690 category.

Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas, which has five QS stars, placed 801-850.

The University of San Carlos was at 1201-1400 rank.

This year’s edition featured 1,500 institutions across 104 locations.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology topped the ranking for twelve consecutive years, while University of Cambridge retained its second place.

The University of Oxford climbed one position to move to third.

The ranking was defined using three metrics: sustainability, employment outcomes, and international research work.
