Suggestions, complaints boxes to be installed in barangays, churches

MANILA — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Quezon City local government are now distributing suggestions and complaints boxes for installation in barangay halls and Catholic churches in Quezon City.

The drop boxes are part of the program of the Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Ilegal na Droga (Masa Masid).

Quezon City Vice Mayor and Quezon City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) chairperson Joy Belmonte on Monday said the program would pave the way for the citizens to put their complaints in the drop boxes.

The complaints can be about people pushing and using illegal drugs, as well as graft and corruption.

QCPD director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said all the details put in the drop boxes would go through a verification process before any operation against the people being complained about, especially over drugs, is conducted.

On the part of the Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Antonio Laviao, the representative of the Diocese of Novaliches, said they are not opposed to such drop boxes.

Laviao added they are supportive of the government program and even urged the public to support the project.

The suggestions and complaints boxes will be opened twice a month. (PNA)
