Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his four co-accused will remain in the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame despite a court order for their transfer to the Quezon City jail.

According to PNP spokesperson PCOL. Jean Fajardo in a press briefing on Tuesday, the PNP will also file a comment to the QC Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 106 regarding a separate order issued by the Pasig RTC Branch 159 ordering the police to retain custody over Quiboloy, his aides Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes.

The QC RTC handles the child sexual abuse charges against the five accused, while the Pasig RTC also handles a non-bailable human trafficking case.

“We don’t want to run the risk na ilipat po sila sa QC tapos mag-bail po sila tapos wala na pong kontrol doon ang PNP. We just have to really harmonize po itong mga court order na ito,” Fajardo said.

“We don’t expect any movement today kasi po magpa-file po ng comment ang PNP…probably to inform (QC) RTC (Branch) 106 that there is an existing order…from the RTC Pasig dahil non-bailable po ’yon,” she added.

The QC court’s order directs Quiboloy and Cresente Canada to be transferred to the New Quezon City Jail facility, while Roy, Cemañes, and Ingrid Canada were supposed to be detained at the Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory.

Meanwhile, the arraignment of Quiboloy and his co-accused at the Pasig RTC is scheduled on Friday. (with report from Patrick de Jesus/PTV News)
