By Dean Aubrey Caratiquet

In a press briefing on Wednesday (Nov. 5), Land Transportation Office (LTO) Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said that they were able to identify the ownership and the people behind the controversial SUV that illegally used the EDSA Busway.

“Today, I would like to announce that the mystery behind the ownership and the people behind the controversial SUV with Number 7 protocol plate on EDSA Busway is already solved,” said Assec Mendoza.

The driver of the SUV was identified as Angelito Edpan while the white Cadillac Escalade is found to be registered to Orient Pacific Corporation, as confirmed by company representative Omar Guinomla.

ASec. Mendoza said they immediately worked on the incident after a video of the violation went viral on social media.

In the press conference, the LTO confiscated the driver’s license of Mr. Edpan while a traffic violation ticket was also issued against him.

“We will issue a show cause order and there could be more administrative charges based on the ongoing investigation,” said ASec. Mendoza.

He assured the public that sanctions will be imposed regarding the incident.
