The Philippine Marine Corps’ (PMC) 3rd Marine Brigade, along with Army, Air Force, and Navy units, carried out a series of counter-landing operations and amphibious assaults over the weekend in Aporawan, Aborlan, Palawan.

3rd Marine Brigade public information chief Capt. Marissa Meriel said the exercises were part of the ongoing and eighth iteration of the Armed Forces Joint Exercise “Dagit-Langit-Lupa” (AJEX DAGIT-PA) which started Nov. 4 and will end on the 15th.

“The exercise featured breaching operations and live-fire demonstrations from artillery, armored vehicles, SRLLs (squad rocket launcher light), heavy and light machine guns, and small arms. It also included air support from the A-29 Super Tucano, showcasing the AFP’s (Armed Forces of the Philippines) integrated air and ground capabilities,” Meriel said.

The AJEX DAGIT-PA, she said, plays a critical role in strengthening the AFP’s external and territorial defense posture, supporting defense strategies such as the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept.
