The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has assured motorists in Northern Mindanao of a sufficient supply of license plates for both four-wheel vehicles and motorcycles.

In a radio interview Thursday, LTO-Region 10 spokesperson Ferdinand Flores said license plates have been secured and distributed to car dealerships across the region.

“The plates are intended for newly registered vehicles. This is a step toward ensuring compliance with regulations,” Flores said.

Flores added that the LTO’s national headquarters has produced over nine million plates this year, a portion of which is allocated to Northern Mindanao.

The LTO also indefinitely suspended the issuance and use of improvised or temporary plates, citing concerns that some vehicle owners fail to collect their original license plates from dealerships.

“The suspension of improvised and temporary plates ensures that vehicle owners follow proper processes and retrieve their original plates,” Flores said.

This initiative is part of the LTO’s ongoing effort to streamline operations and enforce policies for road safety and compliance.
