The uptick in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s trust and approval ratings in a recent survey is a welcome development, Malacañang said Friday, underscoring the Chief Executive’s commitment to serve the Filipino people.

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro maintained that the President will not be affected whether his ratings fluctuate on different polls.

In the 2nd Quarter 2025 Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey by OCTA Research conducted from July 12 to 17, Marcos’ trust rating rose to 64% from the previous 60% recorded in April, while his approval rating climbed to 62% from 59% last quarter.

“Among the top officials surveyed, President Marcos Jr. holds the highest trust and performance ratings in the 2nd Quarter of 2025,” the polling firm said in a report.

According to OCTA, the latest gains in trust and performance ratings of the President are “an apparent reversal of the downward trend observed since the fourth quarter of 2024.”

Since the start of his presidency in 2022, Marcos received his lowest trust and approval ratings in the first quarter of 2025.

The “positive shift in public perception” underscores a “renewed confidence in the President’s leadership,” OCTA said.

Castro said Malacañang was pleased with the survey results, noting that the public is increasingly becoming more aware of the President’s work.

“Nakakatuwa at nakikita na po nila kung gaano po kasipag ang Pangulo para sa taumbayan at para sa bayan,” the Palace press briefer said.

“Ngunit sasabihin po natin muli, ang Pangulo po ay hindi maaapektuhan ng anumang numero pero syempre po ito’y ikinagagalak; at kung tumataas man po ang approval at trust rating ng Pangulo ay nakakatuwa po ito dahil nakikita nila na nagtatrabaho,” she added.
