Ninety-one families in Quezon City and Caloocan City received land titles on Thursday under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP) of the government’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) President and CEO Federico Laxa led the distribution of Transfer Certificates of Title (TCTs) to member-beneficiaries of various homeowners associations in the two cities.
Of the 91 titles, 63 were awarded to families in Payatas, Batasan, and Litex in Quezon City, while 28 went to beneficiaries in Barangay 178 in Caloocan City.
The distribution was held as part of the National Shelter Month celebration, with the theme “Tahanan. Pamayanan. Kinabukasan.”
Through the ECMP, the DHSUD, and SHFC help organized communities secure land tenure, giving families greater housing security.
In a separate development, Aliling signed a memorandum of understanding with Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chairperson Leo Tereso Magno and Philippine Community Housing Corp. President and CEO Tan Chee Siong for the Building Better Moro Homes: Integrated Housing and Community Development Initiative with Support for Camp Transformation in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The agreement seeks to expand access to safe, decent, and affordable housing in BARMM by establishing a framework to assess the proposed program’s technical, financial, legal, institutional, and operational viability.
Under the agreement, DHSUD and MinDA will coordinate information sharing, stakeholder engagement, feasibility assessments, and implementation options. PCHC will conduct a feasibility study and submit its findings and recommendations to concerned government agencies.
